Pruning
Fruit Trees
As a trained pruner and a ISA certified arborist, I specialize in pruning of fruit trees for health and vigor. Thinning to provide good air circulation helps with the prevention of fungal diseases and allows sunlight to reach the fruit. Reducing the number of fruiting spurs helps with breakage from too much weight on the ends of limbs and allows the remaining fruit to reach full size.
NIWAKI: Cloud Pruning
Cloud pruning is a style of fine pruning of trees and shrubs. This style of pruning reveals the structure of the tree or shrub, opens space for air circulation and visually creates cloud-like layers. In my mind it hones in on the negative space.
Firewise
Firewise pruning is all about keeping fuel away from your home; eliminating vegetation up close to structures. Also by pruning to create separation between shrubs and trees to prevent fire from jumping from one vegetative layer to the next.
“Made correctly, a few cuts will encourage bigger fruit, and a healthier plant.”
